The after-holiday needs of your local food banks

There's a lot of charitable giving during the holidays but as one of the volunteers at our local foodbank said, it's the months of January and February that experience a precipitous drop in donations. During a time when food is most needed (especially considering this harsh winter) please give generously to your local food bank!
Also keep in mind that warm coats, boots and gloves are needed right now, especially for children.
Be well and share with all!

There's a stock up sale going on at Stop & Shop, we'll be taking some stuff to our local food pantry next week.

Thanks for posting. This cold weather won't help donations, so please give as you can. Baby food especially important.

Which brings up another question I have, as a non-parent who nonetheless is outraged at the price of baby items -- why is infant formula so damn expensive?

cans of veggies or fruit with pull tabs help the homeless. Also small shampoos, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion, and body wash are good for hygiene bags.
