The last time I searched for a job my expenditures for just that purpose, while on UI mind you,

was nearly $3000, most of it on fuel to go looking for a job, before I finally found one. And all of that came right out of my UI benefits, right along with all my other financial obligations.

No one seems to be talking about the cost of looking for a job. And those expenses come right out of UI checks. Now, not only can these people who have lost UI benefits not pay their bills, they also now have no money to look for a job.

The whole system is impossible to navigate without a home, car, clothes...living on the street isn't going to do it.

Hopefully you were able to take advantage of them. I know being jobless sucks, I've had a couple rounds of that since W started tanking the economy.

Except sales and other taxes like that...and even homeless people pay sales tax...but get no refund.
But if you made enough to pay taxes then it is great you can deduct it from your tax bill...but not many unemployed can take advantage of that.

We are talking folks barely making it, getting the money back next year doesn't give you the money now. Nice feature in the code for those who can take advantage but little help to an insult for folks in dire straits now.

But isn't there something called an earned income credit handled through tax forms? If you got any work at all, you may be eligible for this
