I am surprised they did not say the cold wave was to avoid talking about Obamacare.

(31,849 posts)it drives me nuts when I see people (on DU, too) talking about "Income INequality." That is NOT the problem ... the problem is income inEQUITY!
I don't believe anyone is seriously calling for everyone to make the same amount (i.e., income equality), regardless of qualifications, talent and/or effort (or even luck) ... What we/I want to see is that everyone be compensated in a fair and rational manner, that takes into consideration qualification, talent and effort.
When we confuse equity with equality, we give legs to the "equal outcome" argument, which squeezes out the "equal opportunity" argument.
