Rouse! Schnell!
Explanation for the under 40 crowd....
This is a caricature of Gov. Chris Christie as the perennially daft and willfully ignorant guard, Sgt. Schultz, on the 1970's TV show Hogan's Heroes.

I used to love that show. My favorite was an episode where the guys wanted to get some prisoners out of the camp, so they made Colonel Klink think the war was over. They created fake radio broadcasts, that sort of thing. Link threw the gates open, all the guards, including Schultz, were talking about what they were going to do after the war, and everybody was partying. Then General Burkhalter showed up.
"Klink!! What is the meaning of this?!"
"Oh, General, sir, haven't you heard? The war is over!"
"No, I had not heard that the war is over, and neither have the Americans. They bombed Berlin not one half hour ago!"
"Schultz! Close the gates! The war is back on again!"

Christie & Nixon
Christie: "I had no knowledge ..."
Nixon: "I had no knowledge ..."
Christie: "And I'll say one last thing just so we're really clear ..."
Nixon: "Let me make one thing perfectly clear. ..." (his trademark phrase)
Christie: "I'm not a bully."
Nixon: "I'm not a crook."
