Just wondering since her actions and the actions of others just might fit the legal definition.

This bill is intended to address a gap in the law where seriously negligent conduct results in the death of an individual but may not involve sufficient culpability to constitute manslaughter or death by auto or vessel.

(49,212 posts)The woman who died was 91 and had a heart attack. I'm not an actuary but I suspect it's safe to assume that the chances of a 91 year old surviving a heart attack would be approximately zero even if she were standing in the middle of a cardiac care ward.
What happened was outrageous and it doesn't need the facts stretched to make it so.

(8,155 posts)Actually, without even considering the charge off negligent homicide, I think there's a laundry list of potential charges for this case.

(25,183 posts)that the 91 year old woman probably didn't stand a chance, bridge closure or not, I do think that some sort of criminal sanction should be sought against those who executed this so-called 'prank'.
You don't screw with ordinary peoples' lives just to play political one-upmanship. There's 'leaking' to the tabloid media for that, which has no effect on the everyday lives of regular people.

(49,212 posts)but piling on charges that won't stick (and there's no way on god's green earth that one would) as an intimidation tactic isn't a good idea when half the potential defendants are lawyers.
