Codey: Some Democrats tried to quash investigation into bridge scandal to protect Christie


Former New Jersey Gov. Richard Codey (D) said that some Democrats "tried to quash an investigation into the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal to protect Gov. Chris Christie (R)," the Newark Star Ledger reports.

Codey noted "that while the state Assembly was ramping up its investigation on the massive traffic jam -- eventually finding that several people in Christie's office were involved -- there was 'an intense campaign' by some Democrats to stop it in its tracks."

Said Codey: "People know that there was an effort by certain Democratic circles to have this thing not see the light of day."

Local Politics in general isn't as much defined by party, and Christie has some supporters allies in the Democratic party (as well as many enemies of course). The bridge scandal has apparently weakened the Christie Democrats hands.

Because they're not Democrats.

The real Democrats are the ones who have refused to back down and are going full-bore after Christie, just as Republicans wouldn't hesitate to go after any Democrat who would have done just half what Christie and his goons have done - as well they should.

Wonder how they benefited from supporting Crisp Crispy? Hope we find out.

As far as I'm concerned - Crispy and the dirty politics/politicians in New Jersey need to be exposed and be made an example of. Politicians need to know that the people won't continue to tolerate that type of behavior - when these pols are working with our money.

This should be made a lesson to all pols around the country - local, state and federal - that they can't continue to take advantage of us at our expense.

I'm hoping that New Jersey comes out of this scandal/investigations stronger and cleaner - and becomes an exemplary state based on dedication to serving the public and honest government.

I live in Illinois - and I don't know if this states officials have learned their lesson after many of our guv's have gone to jail.

We have a Repug candidate campaigning in the state now that is trying to buy the election - very evident of that. He's being implicated in some under-handed dealings already and he just got started pushing for the primary endorsement.

If we're seeing this now - so early in this Repug primary - think of the type of Guv this guy will be.
