Holy Facting Shite - Christie was with Wildstein on September 11th 2013

Gov. Chris Christie is seen with David Wildstein, in red tie, on Sept. 11, 2013, before a ceremony on the 12th anniversary of the 2001 World Trade Center attacks in Manhattan, in a photo obtained by The Wall Street Journal. Sept. 11 was the third day of the lane closures in Fort Lee, N.J.

<snip>
Gov. Chris Christie was with the official who arranged the closure of local lanes leading to the George Washington Bridge on Sept. 11, 2013 — the third day of the closures, and well after they had triggered outrage from local officials beset by heavy traffic.

It isn’t known what, if anything, Mr. Christie discussed with David Wildstein that day, when the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official was among the delegation of Mr. Christie’s representatives who welcomed him to the site of the World Trade Center for the commemoration of the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks there.

Also present with Mr. Christie that day were Bill Baroni, the authority’s deputy executive director, who was helping Mr. Wildstein manage the fallout from the closures among local officials, subpoenaed documents show. Also there was David Samson, the Port Authority chairman and close Christie ally, who has said he didn’t learn of the lane closures and traffic in Fort Lee, N.J., until an email from a New York port official ordered the lane closures reversed. Messrs. Samson and Baroni didn’t respond to requests for comment.

“I have had no contact with David Wildstein in a long time, a long time, well before the election,” which was held Nov. 5, Mr. Christie said last week. “You know, I could probably count on one hand the number of conversations I’ve had with David since he worked at the Port Authority. I did not interact with David.”

...three direct routes into NYC from NJ: Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge.

Let's say Colonel Christie (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024320643) was simply a commuter on that day, there is no way in hell he doesn't know that the GWB brigde has been turned into a parking lot.

This was a massive traffic jam on the GWB, EMS delays, angry constituents, police being used as pawns, and everyone in his inner circle frantically communicating about the situation.

It also involves the Port Authority, which is controlled by the Governors of NJ and NY, and the busiest toll brigde in the world.

"For Chris Christie's minions, the anniversary of the September 11 bloodbath was 'time for a traffic jam in Fort Lee.'"

Christie's Democratic Ally Worries Bridge Scandal Will Become 'Distraction'

One of Chris Christie's Democratic allies in the New Jersey legislature urged his colleagues Tuesday to not be distracted by the George Washington Bridge scandal, an admonition that was met reportedly met with silence.

New Jersey State Sen. President Steve Sweeney (D) made a reference to the media attention generated by the scandal.

"The headlines in the recent press cannot become a distraction," Sweeney said in remarks on the senate floor, according to reporter Matt Katz.

Katz noted that Sweeney did not receive applause for the remark.

The investigation into the politically motivated lane closures on the bridge has exposed a divide among New Jersey Democrats. State Sen. Richard Codey (D) said Monday that "Democratic power brokers" in the state were trying to halt the probe, but the newly sworn-in speaker of the state Assembly, Democrat Vincent Prieto, shot that down.

...meaning Manhattan. You could take the Verrazano bridge, and enter Manhattan via the Battery Tunnel or Brooklyn Bridge, but I was referring to direct connections to Manhattan.

Still doesn't change the point about Christie.

For us, it's now easy just to take the PATH, but of course, many people can't do that due to access. The point being that what Christie and his minions did was criminal.

I'm hoping that the local media and the NY national media stay on top of this. It's sad that I have to say this, but I feel that the national Democratic Party should stay out of it as much as possible because Christie and his cheerleaders, plus the Corporate Media, will just write it off as a Democratic-Party witch hunt. But the local Jersey reporting on this--which captures the attention of the entire Tri-State area--has been nothing short of brilliant!

"September 11th could reasonably be called 'long before the election.'"

...that Wildstein was picked to be his "eyes and ears" in the PA (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024323343), how is it possibly for Christie to make this statement:

“I have had no contact with David Wildstein in a long time, a long time, well before the election,” which was held Nov. 5, Mr. Christie said last week. “You know, I could probably count on one hand the number of conversations I’ve had with David since he worked at the Port Authority. This sure doesn’t look good to me: Christie is photographed yukking it up with David Wildstein and Bill Baroni of the Port Authority three days into the GWB traffic scheme to punish a Democratic mayor for not endorsing him. That follows the governor’s insistence that he could barely remember any serious interaction with Wildstein “for a long time”. That could still be true, depending on your definition of a long time, but it sure looks fishy to me. And it will, I presume, to potential primary voters.
