On Christie scandal, has anyone heard any info on why

and how the original personal emails were leaked? They were personal accounts yahoo and gmail and
I don't understand this. Doesn't it imply that one of the people, say on the original order to close the lanes, like Wildstein or Kelly leaked them?

I haven't heard anyone discuss this. It's almost like either they turned on Christie - or someone else had access to their personal accounts - but who?

I think Christie was so pissed at Kelly not because of what she did at all - but because she had written about it using yahoo and gmail - creating proof.

Once Christie knew he was caught, he got his people together, decided who was going down if it came to that, and made deals with them...

The emails were released. And Christie had his highly scripted press conference and 'State of The State' bullshit speech.

incriminating than "time for some traffic problems".

If this whole thing was planned for months, then why not create emails that showed some fake reason other than retribution?

will be the downfall. At least that's how I'm reading this. Ness got Capone on Income Tax evasion, spending Sandy money on yourself and your re-election campaign is criminal.

5. They were not leaked.

Wildstein had to provide them to an investigative committee so they are public info.

However, Wildstein's attorney is the one who did all the redactions and the Assembly will be going after the same stuff un-redacted. I think the redactions were designed to point fingers at just a few and protect the Governor.

As for Christie being upset with anyone for using gmail or yahoo - that is how government employees doing inappropriate political activity always communicate. Sadly, as of last night the suspects had not been told to preserve their communications so there is no doubt a lot of deleting going on right now.

Perhaps the NSA can get it all back.

6. Not leaked? this says they were. Or are you saying they were leaked

out of the investigative committee?

Emails disclosed this past week show a top Christie aide asking the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to shut down three lanes on the busy George Washington Bridge, resulting in major backups for days last September. Those emails were leaked to reporters last week, even though one newspaper requested them nearly a month ago, only to be told they didn’t exist.

7. I guess "leaked" makes for a better story.

They were provided to the press at the appropriate time by the committee investigating the Port Authority.
