Blue Color Dilemma for West Virginians.

DUers including myself find ourselves miffed as to why they vote for Republican Presidential Candidates in huge numbers...

However.....

Much of their State Govt. is dominated by Democrats.. Its almost as though they understand how Republicans work only for the 1% yet their income, and financial well being depends on the Koch Brothers...Really w/o these dirty industries these people become completely w/o income..

Fed Govt. needs to subsidize these workers as they evict these dirty industries...
Invest in producing environmental friendly power grid products..

This is the only way our country gets out of this mess ..

4. Pardon, but you put up a lot of words, with no solution.

Coal is dying because Natural Gas is killing it, that isn't going to change. "Environmentally friendly power grid products". Exactly what products that China doesn't already have a massive lead on? Why subsidize workers in West Virginia and not workers in inner cities? The problems that West Virginia have are the very same problems that the rest of the country has, old economic engines are dying and for the last 40 years, politicians have done nothing to reverse the decline.

The only solution that I can see is a new breed of business person that puts workers and funding innovation high on the list of priorities have to come forward and push the old wealth destroying business people aside. China can help by changing it's policy toward raising living standards for it's population by spending it's reserves on pollution control, infrastructure and public health. China is so massive that economic activity there will pull in resources and products from all of the rest of the world, improving the economies of the rest of the world. But Chinese officials are too nearsighted to improve the lot of citizens there by spending on internal improvements.

6. Did you actually read the post..

I offered up a solution that you piggy banked on..

Getting the Federal Govt. involved in putting these people to work is the key...I donít care in what capacity, I just want them back to work. Iím surprised you didnít get this.

By the way, if you think green energy tech has peaked and that China will control this sector into the future..You better reevaluate your assumptions..

5. WVa has historically gone for D presidential candidates. They only started consistently voting

R for the presidency in 2000. And the Kochs aren't the only big capital in WVa.
