Top N.J. Assembly Republican wants Legislature to call off Christie investigation

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/01/top_assembly_republican_thinks_legislature_should_stop_investigating_gwb_scandal.html#incart_river

TRENTON — The top Republican in the state Assembly thinks the Legislature should stop investigating the George Washington Bridge scandal and let federal investigators take over.

Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick (R-Union) said the inquiry should be handled solely by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and not two legislative panels – one in the Assembly and one in the state Senate – led by Democrats.

“I have no problem whatsoever that the U.S. Attorney takes over investigations. Let the chips fall where they may,” Bramnick said in a phone interview. “But once you have politicians investigating politicians from wrongdoing, it can’t be fair.”

Democrats do not plan to take Bramnick’s advice. Just last week, the Assembly investigative panel issued 20 subpoenas to top Port Authority brass and members of Gov. Chris Christie's inner circle.

I may be a bit cynical, but the Legislative investigators have likely been chosen to protect those libdem4life Jan 2014 #1

within their sphere of influence, which is why they don't want to even combine their investigations. Rachel has brought it up...there is space for Christie to claim a kind of ganging up. This place is a cesspool of grand measure, with likely no pure participants...or they wouldn't get into the entirely corrupt state system.

And the pension issue is a problem with every state...double and triple dipping...into taxpayer's money. While cutting food stamps and such. Pretty much a fraternity of greed.
