This New Pope seems to have Understood Dr. King's Message and has Learned!
When I see the posts here about this new Pope and his message I sort of see a wicked smile from Rev. King in his Grave.
I'm thinking he's thinking..."This Guy is STEALING MY WORK....MY MESSAGE!" I think that he would be rueful ...in his thoughts in the grave...
But, I wonder if he thinks the Pope is Serious...or just "Marketing from Handlers"...or because he was a "Churchman Himself" who did a bit of "Marketeing" himself if he really wasn't almost from SMILING to a BIG GRIN...that Messages about People in Dire Need...in Poverty because of US Policies of the MIC and Media Industrial Complex, Think Tanks Powered by Powerful People even growing in Numbers since he identified the Influence so long ago..
Throw in this Pope...and I think he's there "Watching and Waiting" and smiling and grinning ...but HE ....in one sense doesn't believe what he's hearing...yet his HOPE is that one of the Huge Religions of the World.....Just MIGHT....JUST MIGHT...take UP his MESSAGE that he DIED FOR...and bring it OUT THERE ....ONCE AGAIN!
(Caveat...I am an Episcopalian Protestant).....and I well know the history of the Catholic Church...but I am impressed by this POPE...but holding back wondering if it's anything different from the "Hope and Change" Politically...we were Promised in 20008...that has turned sour for many reasons/excuses...but, has still turned sour and bitter for many of us Democrats who worked hard to counteract the Bush Years and Reagan/Bush Before now left to our "own selves" to fend for food in a place gone fallow because of neglect.
YET...I'ts SO INTERESTING the TIMES WE LIVE IN!
A Pope that Sounds a Trumpet for a New Generation of Catholics who might be a follower of the Reverend King....and people like Reverend Barber in North Carolina LEADING against the Republicans with his "Moral Monday Protests" which have gotten a large following all over the State of North Carolina given the Republican COUP that took us over while PBO wasn't looking and our Democratic Party let us down so bad that we are left with scraping the bottom to GET TO THE TOP once again...while the people suffer.
Just saying........
LET FREEDOM RING with DR. KING'S LEGACY!
