Cry me a Fucking River Joe

Last edited Tue Jan 21, 2014, 02:13 PM - Edit history (3)

My God (or universe or mother or whatever label you choose to attach to the idea there is something bigger then ourselves out there.)

9 months out of the year I work in the asphalt business and get up every morning when morning joe starts so i watch till leave the house. This time of year i have 3 months off so i dont wake up till late so i dont watch. This morning the cats were seriously bugging the crap out of me to get out of bed (ever wake up to 3 of them in your face pawing at you?) and feed them early so i did and tuned in.

I know that Joe is a rightwing fucknut but at least Mika is like halfway sane about most stuff. Not on this issue though.

Joe is sitting there just SEETHING anger its pouring off him snapping at guests talking over people even more then usual. And since i guess mika is blowing christy or somthing? i dunno whats going on with that but shes all on board the hate. Both of them ripping that mayor lady.

WHO WOULD KEEP A FUCKING DIARY?? fuck if i know bitch but did she? ok well is whats in the diary the truth or not thats all that matters.

Yeah so it was just too much for me. looked like an SNL skit so i shut that crap off and went back to bed knowing the cats had a full belly and they would let me sleep for two more hours till they get hungry again.

<edit> when i said 'bitch' i was responding to Joe not mika. He was the one screaming about the diary. I forget that the term can be seen as gender based, i dont see it that way, ill call anyone it. Just how i grew up, the people i was raised with. sorry for the confusion.

I told Mr. Dorky and he was like, "yeah, right".

Also, and this is just me thinking aloud, in my past life I was an Executive Assistant, normally to the President, CEO or Chairman of some big well-known corporations. I got on well with most of my bosses and in each and every one of those jobs the rumor always was I was having an affair with the boss. It wasn't even remotely true. Not even a furtive glance. And let me tell you, a LOT of "stories" were being floated around, particularly one job where I was supposedly found having sex on the table in a board room with my boss. The person spreading it around SWEARS they saw it with their own 2 eyes. Must have been our clones!

Not that I am saying they're NOT having an affair, but sometimes people say shit.

soaking into the minds of the younger generation. Just look around and I think you will see that they have learned to hate liberals because they grew up with that being drilled into their minds and now they listen to this garbage in the media and it sticks. There are those that have shocked me with the way they talk about liberals and being a union member. One of the criteria should be to qualify for union membership one should agree to support those political figures that support our labor bargaining rights organizations.
Morning Dumbass has found away to make more money than ever in his life and he doesn't care who he insults or issues he supports he is still getting paid by a right wing corporate media organization.
When he said F&*k on the air or made insulting comments about the President or other Democrats did he get reprimanded or suspended ..no
When a couple of our liberal hosts have made truthful comments about right wing nut crazes' they get fired

In other words, Christie would be in a better position today if he'd kept a diary. Would avoid contradicting himself.

On Tue Jan 21, 2014, 10:11 AM you sent an alert on the following post:

Cry me a Fucking River Joe
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024366155

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

YOUR COMMENTS

"fuck if i know bitch but did she?" As much as I agree with the poster's anger toward this morning's program, the sexist language is a bit over the top.

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Tue Jan 21, 2014, 10:20 AM, and voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT ALONE.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I agree with the bitch part over the top, but I don't think it needs to be hidden. I agree with what the poster was saying about that show this morning.

Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: There's also the speculation about her "blowing christy" but I'd hide it just for the word b****. Enough with the sexist slurs.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I get the OP's frustration with the garbage that is Morning Joe, but prefer to see points like this made without sexist slurs.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I don't vote to hide much but didn't appreciate the sexist language. I do agree with some of the post and wished the writer had expressed it better.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: OP is what most of DU is already thinking. Leave it as is.

Good thing we didn't take that tack with slurs for homosexuals, people with learning disabilities, etc.

Examining why this slur is perceived differently gives meaningful insight into society.

That's the problem with Christy's "it's not logical" defense. Sorry Christy it's very logical that she would go to the Feds to tell the truth. I'm sure she was under oath. As soon as the Christy side starts answering questions under oath, then we can get to the bottom of this.

20. Diary?
Tue Jan 21, 2014, 12:17 PM
Jan 2014

While serving as the Executive Director of the West Virginia Veteran's Memorial in Charleston, West Virginia, I kept a daily diary. Why because I knew then and know now that Politics will eventually rear its ugly head. They did, and as always the diaries saved the day. Nothing they can say will change the truth. I still have those diaries today, all ten years worth.

Tue Jan 21, 2014, 12:23 PM
Jan 2014

keeping a daily log is commonly kept by many many people I know.

I keep a daily log with all my discussions, conference calls, meetings, etc. that are my records of these events. It is the only way I can reliably refer back to what someone said or promised to do and when.

So it is entirely possible the mayor or Hoboken did keep a hand-written diary. People shouldn't be questioning that she kept one and as to her inserting the story about her discussion with the deputy governor now begs credulity. How would she know she was going to want to return later to the diary and insert a politically-motivated story for just that day. It is nonsense.

and every effective person keeps one. It's especially helpful in court cases. I used to be a CASA and everything was documented at the time of the event. Also, as a press secretary, I learned to document everything because who knew what would need to be remembered later. She's an effective public servant and she keeps notes on everything that she does and what people say to her. Dead Intern Joe would never keep a diary because he doesn't want people to know what the hell he does, especially what happened to his intern.

have heard it used so demeaningly towards women that it is now anathema. We have to look at how language has been used traditionally to damage other human beings. How do we consciously avoid using it in such a way without making the case for suppression of opinion? IMO, we find a more creative solution, one that hasn't been used so viciously against one half of humanity. I think we can even be freer than before by seeking new ways to express STRONGLY our utmost revulsion towards Joe''s or Mika's "performance." It doesn't mean you need to have your view silenced. It is really a matter of saying to ourselves, "This is old and has been used to harm those I may not intend to harm. I'll say it a different way."

Thanks for seeking me out on this!

That show... is crap. I know, my dad watches it fairly often - well, whenever he's home in the morning to watch it, usually he goes to work too early.

The story about the cats reminds me of a woman I once lived with. She had three, too, and they would come in every morning (often between 4:30 and 5 AM) and start climbing all over our faces, some times purring, some times meowing, but basically getting the point across that it was time to get up and feed them. I have heard it said that, "Dogs have masters. Cats have slaves." generally I think it's pretty accurate. We're their humans, you know? We do what they want, or they cute us to death.

Now, i decided to watch it again the last few days just to see what Mika had to say about the Christie bs.; knowing full well she is smitten by Christie. I thought she might finally see the light but alas she is still performing like a good stepford wife.
