Barbara Bush: “I love Bill Clinton…maybe not his politics, but I love Bill Clinton”

“I love Bill Clinton…maybe not his politics, but I love Bill Clinton,” she said in an interview that aired Monday on C-SPAN.
.....................................

“Bill visits us every summer,” she said. “We don’t agree politically, but we don’t talk politics.”

The former first lady, now 88, said her husband has almost become a father figure to Clinton.

“I think he thinks of George a little bit like the father he didn’t have,” she added.

2. Politics CAN be set aside, and should from time to time. GHWB and Clinton share a very rare experience in common, why shouldn't they have a relationship that allows them to discuss it?

was your basic GOP corporatist, more liberal on social issues that he admitted. (Clinton was a corporatist as well, as our current Pres is at times.)
I think he was aghast at what his son wrought.

Bush had 20 years in the White House and decades in power.
Cant quite follow your Christian right remark.
Doesnt ring any bells.
I do recall a bit of an Iran-Contra problem he put to bed with a preemptive pardon
and a little help from John Kerry.
