More than a third of Republicans in Oregon’s House are leaving, says report

Via Washingtonpost.com, The Oregonian reports:

More than a third of the House Republicans have announced they will retire from public office or are seeking another office. Democratic turnover has been much lower, with 14 percent of members moving on.


Meanwhile, The Oregonian also reports, Oregon's new landmark: More than 30 percent of registered voters desert major parties:

The major parties dipped below the 70 percent mark in July. In the latest numbers, from December, it looks like this:

Democrats.........................38.99%
Republicans........................30.63%
Non-Affiliated.....................22.89%
Oregon Independent Party.....4.59%
Other.................................2.89%

I know she's a Dem, but she's the only one I've met. Spent a wonderful afternoon minigolfing with her - she seemed really cool.
