I'm very concerned (noted, thanks...) about Putin's ability to keep everyone over there safe from those wacky religious extremists who have been striking at will in the area.

I know one thing... if I was competing over there, there's no way I would ever leave Olympic Village.

Afterall we could not keep people safe from wacky religious extremists even though we were informed about them in advance by foreign intelligence services including the Russians.

I also think there is a difference between two extremist brothers (funny, from the same region in Russia where the trouble is coming from) and an organized crew that has shown their ability to strike repeatedly and kill dozens regardless of Russia's efforts to thwart them.

This group has said that they intend to strike the games and given their track record, I'd believe them.

Once again, I never said to cancel the games, I only said I was concerned that they'd be remembered more because of violence than their homophobic policies.

a somewhat nervous 2+ weeks at my house when I get up every morning, wondering if, and what, horrible things might have happened overnight.

This should be their golden moment but instead it is tarred by the Russian policies towards gays, and the threat of terrorism.

Still, I can't bring myself to even want to watch, with the homophobic aspect.
