Even a lout with a room-temperature IQ like Shrub aged fast. Plus, he wasn't really President.

I think the job just plain sucks.

It is a lot easier to focus on doing for others than promoting oneself, as that always leads to intrapersonal conflict.

In this era, where hucksters and demagogues rule the airways and legislatures, the public has been trained into thinking the loud mouths are 'strong leaders' and quiet. long term thinkers are weaklings.

That's how fascists take over nations, in countries where the population has been reduced to infantilism and they go for all the words that incite them which they percieve as dramatic and powerful.

Just a couple of thoughts. We have been blessed to have him in office. We won't see his caliber again for a long time. I miss him already.

But damn, look at the toll it is taking on him. Sure, we may be lucky he's where he is...but is he lucky to be there?

while a little-known senator from Illinois named Barack Obama gave the keynote speech and my dad said "There's your first black president right there." My dad passed away 3 weeks later.
