Marlise Munoz is the Texas woman who was kept on life support after brain death against her and her family's will because she was pregnant. The following section of Texas law forced them to do it:
Sec. 166.049. PREGNANT PATIENTS. A person may not withdraw or withhold life-sustaining treatment under this subchapter from a pregnant patient.
Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1989. Renumbered from Sec. 672.019 and amended by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 450, Sec. 1.03, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.

Notice the effective year: 1999. Shrub was elected governor in 1995 and presided through 2000, which means he signed this.
So...send him the hospital bill.

judge decided. The law didn't apply to a corpse.
