The Unemployed Can Forget It. Nothing Will Be Done. And The GOP Will Still Win.

I would not be surprised if Dems still lose in 2014. I think the American people are just too stupid or something. Yes, Obama won two elections, but we lost the House where it really counts. And we could lose the Senate as well.

It should never be close with the GOP they are so bad and so mean and evil. Anytime a Republican wins any office someone loses and the country at large really loses in some very bad ways. Yet the worst politicians still get elected at more local levels and even in some national ways.

Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Gohmert, Cruz, McConnel, etc etc etc. They are in office and will likely be around. The country cannot move forward. We are not even moving sideways. We are still moving backwards in too many ways.

Obama even puts bad people in the wrong place like Arne Duncan and Rahm Emmanuel.

Unless we start getting the right people and voters get enough brains to vote against money and GOP racism I do not see us getting ahead nationally.

Really? I know the Dems are pushing it... With Sanders on Budget, and yes, they're losing some. freshwest Jan 2014 #3

It's just that they've got the media in their pocket, always preaching about the inevitability of their winning. It is a psychological tool that demoralizes most Democrats and TMN.

Senate-The senate seats seem to be the hardest and most expensive to flip. Lots of retirements and our side has quite a few seats up for reelection. I think we may lose a seat or two, but it may be close to even. We have some good prospects for upset in George and Kentucky though.

House-Gerrymandering creates so many safe seats it's hard to flip some. There are going to be plenty of competitive seats. I think we may gain a few seats, but not near enough to take back control.

Governors-We lost quite a bit in 2010 and 2012, but are back at 21 to 29. Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Texas are all going to be important races. I believe it's very likely we will end up 26-24 or 27-23.

I agree with you overall, but I'd recommend looking at the long game. It will take the 2014 AND 2016 elections to get things turned around in terms of having the right people. To do that we need to work hard and turn out to vote. Another 2010 will screw us.
