Racism and hate slowly flooding France

Hey, just wanted to share with you DUers. Yesturday, hundreds of conservatives warked tru Paris to claim Hollande resignation. Im so sad. What they did? Nazi signs and salutes, ans slogan anti Jews, anti LGBT....and so on.

Do you Americans think Europe will be turned into various nationalist regimes, or even a war, given the actual climate of hate ( IMHO created by the crisis?)

Id like to have some support, and some overseas opinions.

Thanks.

They ended up having the conversation in English because no one could understand what in the hell I was talking about with regards to a programming issue. I basically said something along the lines of "The overcooked sky smelled like sausages and no one can hear the taste."

The breaking down into opposing camps chanting and proteating basic rights is awful. Having the severe job issues in France impacts a lot as too many young people can find little work causing big difficulties and a lot of fear.

But now, be known that for the begining, 2 years ago, a movement begun, here, part of the Occupy global one. I took part personally in. We've been persecuted for. Then, the move lowered, and the came the LGBT Wedding act. And THOSE ATI BASIC right protests drews more people. And, truly, goveremet let them do..... Do they really wat to provoque a social blast? I don't know, but its strange how in France, Occupyers are beaten and arrested just for having sitten on a square without asking permission, to debate PEACEFULLY .....WHILE at the same times autorities tolerates: nazi salutes, slogans like " JEWS out of France" and also " lgbt must be deported

Really, today, I'm ashamed to be a fellow to those poeple.

Decent people, ultra conservative scary people, anti-immigration people, anti-equal rights people, neo-nazis, anti-Rom people, Algerians and other immigrants from former Fench colonies, young people who can't find work, etc etc etc. More people, less to have for all.

Mine, me first, hard to get by, let's break into groups and hate Others.

I don't know, keep hoping the good decent people will outweigh the nasty scary ones but it can be scary.

It had gotten rather rough around the hotel we stayed in three years ago across from the Gard Du Nord - many people sleeping on the sidewalk after dark - and I think they were doing it more to protest, not because they were homeless. It wasn't a good advertisement for tourists. 😄
We will have children along so we won't be making any trouble.

I imagine a lot of this stems from years of immigration from the Middle East and Africa, causing a lot of culture clash and friction. It drives the extreme RW nationalists crazy.

The U.S. also has problems stemming from immigration though probably not as bad as European countries since the U.S. is farther away and harder to get to.

One organization in the U.S. that monitors hate groups, advises law enforcement on their activities, and has the resources to take some of them down in court is the Southern Poverty Law Center:

Our Teaching Tolerance program is working to foster school environments that are inclusive and nurturing – classrooms where equality and justice are not just taught, but lived. The program points to the future, helping teachers prepare a new generation to live in a diverse world.

In France, immigrants are since long hosted in the "cités " or ghettos, and, by time thoses places are become big trafficing markets and violent alternative "states". They were also for decades baned from better jobs, studies etc... Ad so they became more and more frustrated and turned for comfort to communautarism. And thats cotributed to increase the tenses, yes

And I see it's Algemeiner. I could go on for days about this outlet. here, just have a look at the sentements expressed in the comments:

France’s Jews need to get the hell out of there.

Time for French Jews to get out.

how about No Jews!Time to saddle up and Ride off into the Sunrise! (did you think I would say Sunset?)

end of the day there's really no difference between the racist shitheads in the march, and the racist shitheads in the comments section - both are antisemites who believe Jews have no place among other peoples or nations. It's just that one group claims their antisemitism is actually Jew-friendly. That's pretty par for the course with the Algemeiner and most other dedicated Zionist outlets like it - make the entire world look like a horrible, terrifying place for Jews, and hope to scare them into Israel.

39. Paris anti-Hollande march turns hateful against Jews
Mon Jan 27, 2014, 09:58 PM
Jan 2014

(JTA) — A march through Paris against French President Francois Hollande ended with anti-Semitic chants and cries of support for an anti-Semitic comedian.

At least 150 protesters were arrested in the “Day of Anger” demonstrations on Sunday, according to reports. Nineteen police officers were injured in clashes with protesters, one seriously, the French news agency AFP reported. Police estimated that 17,000 participated in the march.

Protesters performed the quenelle, a gesture reminiscent of the Hitler salute that was invented by the anti-Semitic French comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala. They also called for freedom of speech on Dieudonne’s behalf.

Anti-Semitic chants included “Jews go home” and “Jews, France is not your country,” according to Israel Radio.
