There was a time when DU was a community where entrusted folks might surreptitiously be able to reach out to people in need, or absent from the boards.

That was then, this is now.

Now the only ways to try to reach out would be to ask members if they know how to contact members or to privately ask admins to send a message.

The former is likely to be more successful.
