Abandoned cars crowd lake Shore Drive in Chicago, 2011. Commuters had been warned for days to avoid Lake Shore drive on the day of the blizzard.

Gotta love those Midwest-Great Plains snowdrifts. Two inches of snow shouldn't make entire highways of drivers yell "Ah, fuck it!" and abandon ship.
