Justin Bieber "blows through $1 million a month"

Justin Bieber — busted last week in Miami for drag-racing in a rented Lamborghini — better slow down .?.?. his spending. “He’s blowing through $1 million a month,” a source told me. “The guys handling his investments at Mellon Bank complain that there is nothing left for them to invest.”

That’s saying something for a star who was ranked No. 27 in the earnings category of Forbes magazines’s 2013 list of the world’s most powerful celebs. Bieber’s reported haul for the year was $58 million.

As for where the money’s going, he has a large entourage, some of whom live and travel with him. The pop idol and his posse, including his hard-partying father, just returned from a lavish vacation in Panama.

Bieber spends $8,000 a week on marijuana, according to the Daily Mail, which reported he also uses codeine-laced cough syrup in a concoction rappers call “sizzurp,” plus Xanax and Ambien.

"His posse, including his hard-partying father"? I think I can see what the source of this problem is.

Seems like the common factor in these young celebrities spiraling out of control and cratering their careers is the presence of at least one parent who doesn't want to act like a parent.

Lohan had her mother Dina and it seems like Bieber now has "daddy" enabling his descent into irrelevance.

He seems to have the poor financial skills, giant posse, and "stupid pants" of a young M.C. hammer... didn't know he was a fan of the purple drank, though.

It's sad these days how you can spot a future cautionary tale even before it happens.

$12M/year: a challenge, but a couple of apartments in expensive cities, with some over-inflated art to hang in them, and the staff to maintain them - it adds up quickly even without the hookers and blow!

Actually, I'd invest more wisely in a few carefully selected politicians to make sure I get some long-term returns.

but now he's doing really good for himself. He has a house restoration show on the DIY network, I forget the name of the show. He remodels and sells houses. He seems to have a knack for it and I think his net worth is around 15 million. He's one of the new 1-hit wonder type folks that actually landed on their feet. He did he metal thing for a few years and then started in real estate.

cuz that is where this story goes next. He's going to need his papers to show the judge he is trying to turn his life around.

Beiber, this is Leif Garrett being a wealthy teeny bopper circa early 80s:

didn't contribute much to his upbringing ... his mother relied on government assistance, food banks and the church, as well as working numerous part-time jobs at once. I think 'daddy' cashing in and partying hard with him now is just sad. I know Bieber's done some really stupid things, but I believe he's a troubled soul who's in need of some sort of intervention before he kills someone else, or himself.

Hauling in 58 million, spending 12 million. Seems pretty financially sound. Why can't the guys handling his investments find anything for them to invest. Leas year that would have given him 20 million or so to invest.

Add in a profligate lifestyle, and pretty soon your expenses outstrip your income.
