Thank you so much to all you generous and thoughtful DUers for adding your efforts to those of us in Texas who are working to elect Wendy Davis as our next Governor.



I just have to say though, that it'd sure be great to have a Democratic Lieutenant Governor in office to back her up (Texas is a weak governor state, see). 1. Leticia may actually have a better chance to win than Wendy if Dan Patrick is the GOP nominee

Right now, all four candidate for the GOP nomination for Lt. Governor are competing for the tea party vote by trying to be the greater nut case. I believe that Dan Patrick will win this contest because he is a true not case while Dewhurst is only faking his craziness. Dewhurst was rejected by the tea party voters in favor of Carnival Cruz in 2012 and I do not think that he can win the GOP nomination.

In Texas, the Lt. Governor controls the State Senate and actually has more power than the governor. We really need to campaign for Leticia

I have heard from my county party chair that Leticia is coming to my county in the spring for a fundraiser. I will be attending that event

6. My county party auctioned off a shirt signed by Leticia this Friday

You should have been at my county party fundraiser this Friday. The live auction included a pair of shoes signed by Wendy Davis and a shirt signed by Leticia with her famous phrase

“Mr. President, parliamentary inquiry,” she said on the Senate floor. “At what point must a female senator raise her hand or her voice to be recognized over the male colleagues in the room?”

I am not sure who is printing these shirts as they are not on the TDP website. I will keep my eye out for them.

My county party chair is promising that Leticia will be coming to a fundraiser in my county in the spring.

13. My county party is putting out a robocall from Leticia

We just mailed 15,000 vote by mail applications and we are going to have Leticia do a robocall to remind our over 65 Democratic voters to send in their applications.
