(45,851 posts)There's a blog I read that does sports from time to time and I got in that habit there, it was snark about the prickishness of the NFL to start with.

(15,682 posts)but Jamie Casino has himself one kick ass ad! Seriously. I could have used him a few years ago.
ETA: Am I supposed to understand the "Superb Owl" thing? I don't. I really don't.

(86,515 posts)Did you know that Stephen Colbert used that on his show all last week?

(45,851 posts)Don't watch Colbert or much of any regular programming, I read it enough times to internalize it in my English to snark dictionary.
It's easy to get in trouble trying to import snark from one subculture into another.

(16,399 posts)They always have the most arrogant back patting commercials.
There's a guy named Rob Levine, "The Heavy Hitter" that had an ad that pissed me off. It shows a cop and a firefighter sitting at a diner late at night, and then he walks in and orders a coffee. They ask him "Another late night?". He replies "Yup, on the job protecting others". The cop and the firefighter look at him in admiration as this ambulance chasing bastard smugly grins at the camera.

And then they still hate him but they use her because that's the way the system is set up to work.
I don't blame sharks for being sharks and they are necessary to the ecosystem.
And we have lawyers because there's things sharks won't do.

(16,399 posts)So much of those commercials are pushing an idea of "winning the lottery".
I'm not saying all personal injury lawyers are like this.
