Is Cheney stupid?

I am sure that we all remember that 8 years ago this month, as American soldiers and Iraqi denizens were being butchered by the thousands because Bush and Cheney were "keeping us safe", Cheney decided that he needed a break from being an ass to go to vacation in the south. He gets everything he needs ready: hunting clothes and boots, a hunting rifle, and some ammo. He's going to go shoot him some quail! One day, the Vice President accidentally shoots a lawyer in the god damn face, and receives an apology from said man who gets shot in the face. When you hunt quail, don't you shoot fucking UP? How in the fuck did he shoot the fucking guy? Is Cheney a complete fucking moron like Shrub?

1. Well, because in these "hunts" the quail don't fly up.

They can't.

Their wings are trimmed to keep them from, y'know, NOT getting shot.

You don't expect a rich guy like Cheney to go tromping through the wilderness looking for little birds to shoot, do you? Gosh no! That's for the plebs! No, he goes to hunts where flightless birds are thrown in front of his gun for him, and then after turning htem into meaty shards with concussive force and a spray of pellets, he can retire to dip $500 brandy and laugh at his lawyer's face.

2. I don't think he's stupid

but I'm sure he's evil and twisted. A war criminal and a murderer. Privileged and arrogant. A danger to anyone near him when he's holding a gun. Can't think of anything good to say about the man.

3. Hunting accidents like that one aren't that rare

Often alcohol is involved (as it was with Cheney).

Most bird hunting does not involve shooting up and quail hunting is certainly no exception. That's why you establish and respect individual fields of fire with your hunting buddies. All Cheney did was prove that he is no hunter, or he's a drunk, or both.
