Texas Has A Choice~ A Clear Choice.. Clue.. Wendy Davis!

Wendy Davis’ Daughters Slam Disgusting Right-Wing Attacks Against Their Mother

"I think most people knew that once a powerful Texas woman (who happens to be a Democrat) decided to run for Governor of Texas, the attacks against her were going to get very ugly. I mean this is a strong, independent woman against the Republican party – and Republicans don’t like strong, independent women."

snip//

"Well, apparently her daughters have had enough and they decided to speak out.

Her youngest daughter Dru said, in part:"

“We lived with her the first semester, but I had severe asthma and the weather there wasn’t good for me. My parents made a decision for my sister and me to stay in Texas while my mom kept going to school. But that doesn’t mean she wasn’t there for us. She traveled back and forth all the time, missing so many classes so that she could be with us. Her friends were such a big help. Especially her third year, when she would only go to school two weeks out of the month and her friends would share class notes so she could try to keep up while she was home with us in Fort Worth.” (read the full letter here)

Her eldest daughter, Amber, also weighed in on the ridiculous conservative attacks:

“My mother had me when she was very young, a kid herself. And although she was married for a short period of time, parenthood was her sole responsibility. Yes, we lived in a trailer. Does it matter how long? Not to me. Even though some people have tried to question my own memories; I do remember the trailer, as well as the apartments that we lived in during the years that followed. I know that I was my mother’s first priority and that she wanted a better life for me than the one she was living. She worked 2 jobs and went to community college at night. She refused to repeat the life her family struggled in growing up.” (read the full letter here)

I'm afraid that a majority of Texas DOES hate the Federal Government, especially things like the EPA, the ACA, and planned parenthood.

I don't think this is a winning line of attack.

the past few years because my kids are still young (believe me - it was easier when the little one was in the stroller sleeping at the caucus ... harder when they are school age and running around the room!) so I haven't been officially involved since 2008. Last night I spent some time trying to talk one of my friends into being an organizing fellow in our area - her kids are older! So, still pushing from behind the scenes.

For Texans who are unaware the Texas democratic convention is in Dallas this year -- http://www.hotelplanner.com/Event-Hotels/7592-For-Texas-Democratic-Party-State-Convention-June-26-2014-in-Dallas-TX#navPanel. I know sometimes DUers try to meet up at these events. It's a good opportunity to see Wendy and who knows - Hillary might even put in an appearance! You never know ... she is very well liked here in Tejas!

I bet that will help out some folks! With older kids we have a lot of activities on the weekends (sports, scouts, Sunday School & youth group amongst others). I'm getting all the emails so I have contacts and figure that I should be able to get on the list for calling folks (during the day while the kids are in school). A lot of folks work but not everyone - I was able to get through to some people and leave messages for others when I did this for Obama.

She's got the backbone to take on the Republicans in Texas, that alone is worth parting with some of my hard earned money. I also like to indulge my fantasy of her winning governor of Texas, and imagine the all out panic that would spread throughout the R's everywhere!

I can remember a time when crazy, hate filled people like that Abbot fellow wouldn't have had a chance in politics. Things sure have went downhill fast in this country.

Both of Wendy Davis’ daughters basically destroyed every pathetic right-wing attack that conservatives have tried to throw her way here recently about her personal life. A personal life that even a fellow Texas Republican said she wouldn’t be having to endure attacks against if she were a man. An obvious statement aimed at the fact that women face a different (and often times unfair) scrutiny compared to their male counterparts.

The "womens" are different and deserved the uneducated attack from the ugly neanderthals. The antiquated thinking of the white Tex-ass menz show just how far they have their collective heads stuck up their proverbial asses.

Excellent OP, Cha.

I stand with Wendy Davis. I hope Texas knows what the future can hold for them with Wendy as Governor!
