"Homosexuals prey on young children" is not just politics in Russia, so stop with the rock throwing

across the pond during a global celebration of sport and culture and peace, throw them where they can make a difference:

‘Tolerant’ GOP’er Wants Gays Purged From The Republican Party - Because Satan!

"Mary Helen Sears, who currently serves as the vice-chair of the Michigan Republican Party‘s 1st District, posted a viciously homophobic rant on her county’s Republican website last April. In it she claimed that homosexuals prey on young children, and said that “Satan uses homosexuality to attack the living space of the Holy Spirit.” She went on to argue that the GOP “as a party should be purging the perversion and send them to a party with a much bigger tent.”

And, I must add, these American Holy Rollers are welcome in the Republican Party, and only the Republican Party, when their only welcome should be as place mats at the door of Haydes.

Even going back to the 1960's. I have never read anything from any honest, unbiased sources to have ever countered that.

So where's the proof from the homophobes?
Oh, that's right, they don't need proof. Their saying so, is all the proof we need.

a right instead of offering you another anti gay lunatic to oppose? Why do you see this in terms of silly nationalism? You claim some bigots should be protected? I don't get your thinking at all. Russian officials who say horrifically ignorant and hateful things to the press should be given a pass because Republicans are also ignorant? Why?

"Kiriee Fedorov, 21, was beaten by national-conservative extremists for attending a gay pride rally in St. Petersburg. Fedorov’s friends tried to stick close together and sought cover behind the police, as stones and eggs were thrown at them. The rally was declared illegal under the law banning “gay propaganda” and Kiriee Fedorov and the other LGBT-activists were all later arrested."

Just being near them makes me do a 180 and run away from them. Not because I'm gay, but because I don't like kids. Oh wait, or did she only mean the male gay folks?

"We do it too!" isn't an adequate argument. Bigotry should be criticized everywhere. It's possible to hate the bigotry that happens in the US and also hate the bigotry that happens in Russia.

You have to understand though, there is a certain element which seems particularly pissed off that GLBTA persons have the audacity to criticize Russia for its backward slide into hate.

Here we know who they are, some are more obvious than others about it. In Russia, there
is a corrupt government AND there is a significant amount of bigotry too...and not just
gays. There are citizens there fighting for a better Russia, just like here.. but they have a much
longer way to go.

I support the games b/c I like the intensity of the press ( not MSM ) upon Russia, can't
accomplish that if they are denied hosting the games.

The first week is not even over yet, more scrutiny to come for their government.

Both public opinion and federal law are diametrically opposed to the Russian norm.
It's curious that you claim not to see the difference, but in any case, I hope this clears it up for you.

with their super crazy signs.

We here in the USA aren't exactly paragons of virtue either. We have crazies just like they do in Russia, or anywhere else.

It seems the Olympics brings out the idiotic USA! USA! USA! type sentiment.
