Workers Vote Against Union In Oswego, NY

Scriba (WSYR-TV) - Workers at Oswego County’s largest employer voted down a proposal to form a union. Novelis says workers in Scriba voted down the proposal during a two-day election conducted by the National Labor Relations Board.

Some employees say that the company has raised healthcare costs, cut overtime pay, and cut benefits at non-union facilities. The plant manager at Novelis says that to help absorb the higher costs, workers got a 5 percent raise and a $2,500 bonus.

Wish I could say they voted for it. But only my father-in-law did. You wouldn't believe the disinformation being spread before the vote. And the cheering on my Facebook feed has been disturbing. I just shake my head at their stupidity.
