Loaded 9mm handgun found at Riverdale HS [GA]
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. —
Riverdale High School in Clayton Co. was briefly placed on lockdown Friday morning due to a student on campus with a gun.
According to Clayton County School Police, the student is in custody. The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 a.m. when the school was determined to be safe.
Clayton School Police Chief Clarence Cox said school police found a loaded 9 mm handgun inside the school.
Cox said a campus security officer was attempting to detain the student for a separate offense, and when he resisted, the gun fell out of his pocket.
