Both of them are just incredible - the markings on the kitty are so beautiful. I bet they're good friends now. The kitty, was pretty brave. Held her ground and faced the unknown. My cats would have hidden.

Poor doggy doesn't understand cat at all. Cat obviously thinks puppy is crazy.

My daughter has a dog. He was 5 years old when she got him two kittens as pets. He only saw them under controlled conditions, and he came to regard them as his "children". Now they cuddle and sleep together and groom each other. The cats are still very much cats, and he's still very much a dog, but they are family.

He would try everything to get him to play. Generally it ended with the puppy being chased across the house.

That dawg is doing his best to get the kitteh to play with him without being rough. It may take a while, but I'll bet the kitteh will approach him when it's calmer so he can check the puppeh out on his own terms.

all but screaming "I'm safe" but kitten just doesn't get it...

Our Lab and little orange tabby love to play together. My favorite is when the dog comes charging down the yard from doing her 'business' and cat is waiting in ambush... and then pounces on dog. You'd think the dog would learn it's coming... but no; surprised every time... of course unless dog is just playing along...

...abandoned kitten they found on an out-of-state soccer trip. He lived with my older son and some teammates in a rental house off campus. When they first rescued him, he weighed 1 pound and 4 oz, and soon became buddies with the 90 pound black lab who also lived there.

Kitty is saying, "Nyet!" I'll bet they worked it out.

...if I say so myself.

Their soccer team, which is from Carthage College in Kenosha WI, was in San Antonio when they found this little kitty, all by himself on a cement footbridge about a block from their hotel - right in the middle of downtown, in late August, hot as hell. When they couldn't find a shelter to take him, several team members chipped in to buy the kitten an airline ticket to fly back to WI with the team. He provided the unexpected bonus of being quite the chick magnet.
