Using ObamaCare to steal from the public

http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2014/03/01/using-obamacare-to-steal-from-the-public/

"Here is the story of a ripoff being perpetrated on the public by some locations of a restaurant chain called “Gator’s Dockside”. These greedy, larcenous, lying bastards are charging customers a 1% “ACA fee” to cover costs of providing health insurance for employees of the eateries. One teeny tiny little catch: the ACA requirement doesn’t take effect until 2015.

Oh, and the employees aren’t getting the insurance yet. And they won’t until 2015. So the only reason for the fee is theft, plain and simple.

Of course, scam artists abound in America, and there is nothing unusual in thieves committing theft. But this does point up a rather common phenomenon: people using Obama as a scapegoat, smokescreen, or excuse for whatever crimes they wish to commit. And because of the stupidity, venality, xenophobia and racism of so many of us, these con jobs are all too often successful.

Next time you hear Thing One about how ObamaCare is raising our prices, inflating our costs, or other dire predictions of horrible health-care-related problems, remember the lies of these restauranteurs: they blamed Obama for the money they chose to steal from thousands of customers. And beware of the many other crooks who are also lying about the ACA for their own nefarious purposes."

He just loves their RW PR move and was giving them a free advertisement.

Maybe he's hoping to get a new sponsor to make up for all the sponsors he's lost.

In return for that 25 cents, no one goes bankrupt because they get sick.

The drama junkies are out in force on this one.

it's going to cost 25 cents on every $25 bill, and they feel they have to make a stink about making a surcharge about that? And the news is all over the "hurt to the consumer" nonsense?

What a ridiculous drama. When the price of beef goes up, to stay in keeping with their current level of drama, I fully expect this restaurant to sacrifice a virgin.

Idiots.

the promotional event would be to find the virgin. So I don't think it would really work any better than this surcharge.

"Since the owners are too greedy and cheap to give their hard working employees insurance, we're more than happy to pay a little extra so people can be covered."

"The health insurance marketplaces created by the Affordable Care Act will open on Oct. 1. Most small employers—those with 50 or fewer full-time employees—are not required to offer health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Even businesses with more than 50 full-time employees have gotten a one-year reprieve from penalties if they don’t offer insurance. But all companies, regardless of size, are required to notify their employees about the Obamacare marketplaces."...

...." The notification requirement applies to any business regulated under the Fair Labor Standards Act, which covers all companies with at least one employee and $500,000 in annual revenue. "

Give that 1% charge to the employees when you notify them. BTW business have been given another year to notify. By that time your employees have probably registered online themselves.
