I feel really stupid.

I had no idea, that is until today, that those e-cigs (or whatever people call them) actually contained nicotine. I thought they were just fake cigarettes that had a little glowing light at the end that lit up when the person sucked on the cigarette. I thought the only purpose of them was that a lot of people that tried to quit smoking, didn't only miss the nicotine, but missed having something in their fingers and that they were just as much addicted to that habit as the nicotine.

I guess I need to get out more.

I'm virtually ignorant about the subject, so have no opinion (and will likely keep it that way!)

I am sure someone will come along and turn it into a flame war any minute.

But I was surprised they had nicotine. I thought they just contained water vapor.

Good for smokers who want to cut down on the dangers of smoking real cigarettes.
Bad for teens who may see vaping as cool (and - this should ring some bells from the cigarette heyday - they come in cool flavors. There is a real risk they will become addicted to nicotine - and the e-cigs may become the gateway drug for the next generation of smokers. Especially bad if they start being allowed in all of the places cigarettes are banned (and show up in product placement shots in movies, etc.), so kids see the cool folks using them. . . which should also sound familiar from the cigarette glory days.

from a potent level for a heavy smoker all the way down to none at all for the smoker that can't kick the physical habit.

I've thought the 0% cartridges were crazy, but I've had 2 people tell me a few weeks of using them (after a long taper down process) worked for them.
