Scientists Build Orgasm Machine For Women

Scientists have patented a new machine that will provide orgasms for women at the push of a button.

A little smaller than a packet of cigarettes, the machine is designed to be a medical implant that uses electrodes to trigger an orgasm.  The device would help some women who suffer from orgasmic dysfunction.

During the operation, a patient would remain conscious so that a surgeon could correctly pinpoint the right nerves to fit the electrodes in a patient’s spinal cord.  Then, a signal generator would be connected which would be most likely implanted under the skin of a patient’s buttocks.

Stuart Meloy,  a surgeon at Piedmont Anesthesia and Pain Consultants in Winston-Salem, N.C., came up with idea by accident.

“I was placing the electrodes and suddenly the woman started exclaiming emphatically,” he said to Newscientist. “I asked her what was up and she said, ‘You’re going to have to teach my husband to do that’.”

Men honestly think all they are to women is an ATM machine? Or that women will "come" if you flash wads of $100 bills at them?

Apparently many of the men in Charlotte have no earthly idea how to satisfy a woman in the bedroom or out or they wouldn't be making those comments.

And, for the record, women don't need men for money any more.

I see a lot of crap on local news stories here in East Tennessee, but usually not that level of misogyny. I was expecting some of the usual crude jokes, of course, but some of these guys really think women just want to drive them out of existence.

The history of "medical solutions" to this problem is a history of failed attempts. Even if you can produce an orgasm through electrical stimulation, you cannot reproduce the emotional and intellectual aspect of sexuality. And such a device will do little to help alleviate relationship or psychiatric issues.

This device will be helpful to those who really truly have an organic disease. But I somehow doubt most people fall under that category.

What happened 13 years ago was the anesthesiologist accidentally giving his patient an orgasm. The new development is that the phenomenon has been further researched and the engineering aspects have been addressed, so that now a specific device has reached the stage where it might be patentable. This story in New Scientist says it's been patented -- no guarantee of actual patentability, because many patents that are granted are later successfully challenged, but that's the real news hook.

New Scientist also reports: "Meloy has yet to test the device on men, but says there's no reason it shouldn't work in the same way."

It's a extremely invasive device, sounds like. It won't be used except on extreme cases. There are far too many nerves involved.

A decent vibrater is usually recommended I believe, as well as sex a therapist and there are a variety of those. A very skilled partner helps as well.
