It was mentioned in the context of explaining that one person (and maybe another?) who was believed to be on the plane was not, but he had his passport stolen some time ago.

Edit: I take that to mean somebody else was traveling with their passport, causing them to be on the passenger list. Way to early to say it means anything.

Not sure if they are using the wacky conspiracy site as a source. But wouldn't surprise me.

Do you have a link to a CNN article or did you see it on TV? I guess I should turn on my TV.

Separately, it has been reported that two passengers who were listed on the plane's manifest - an Italian and an Austrian - were not actually on the flight but had had their passports stolen in the past two years in Thailand.

Reports say the plane was at 35,000 feet, so had already made a safe ascent. The fact there was no Mayday prior to its disappearance also points to a sudden catastrophe.

This was all over in an instant. I only hope all the people died instantly or were instantly knocked unconscious.

I fly a fair amount and my only real fear is something that essentially takes the plane out from under me and I have to endure a 30,000 ft plunge to earth fully conscious. Pretty darn unlikely, I know, but the mind has a way of picturing fearful things that are not necessarily rational.
