He was always better trimmed than I was (so is Obama). But I still have a day job, and don't get to the barber much. And as for the hour-long meeting 2 years ago, I was on vacation in the States out in the middle of nowhere when I got the email, "if you could make it to Washington this Friday, the President would love to see you, etc. etc." It wasn't exactly on the schedule when I had left Europe. Well, I was lucky I had some halfway formal attire with me at all. I could just as easily have turned up in shorts and a white T-shirt (would have made the security check a piece of cake, though).

I laughed my ass off when it first came out and slowly realized just how effective a tool it had become.

I've been a big fan of between two ferns and the uncomfortable comedy it produced. The fact that Obama and his people were OK with doing it really impressed me.
