I had to share this re: missing jet

One of my patients is very much involved in the Internet conspiracy community: I will paraphrase his speech to me this morning...

Him: You know, Doctor (I love that) the 9/11 attacks were practiced beforehand and this taking of the plane is the same. The perpetrators got into the cabin, disabled the transponder and radio, and hijacked the plane a la the movie Thunderball. That plane is somewhere either on a landing field camouflaged or on the shallow ocean floor and camouflaged. There were people on that plane they wanted and they got them. After all, you KNOW that there was no such thing as the Pentagon plane and those people are either incarcerated or dead somewhere. If there were a crash at the Pentagon where were all the seats and the bodies? So it is the same business here.

Me: So we're doing a DO on #3 today. Here's some pina colada numbing gel before the injection, OK?

The hipsters of Portland, OR recently voted to keep fluoride out of their water. They did not want to be "poisoned."

that truth-telling and business don't mix well. I have learned to self-censure my sharing of opinions with customers.

5. Ugghhh......Why is it people think the government has the ability to hide a plane on a shallow

ocean floor, but not hide the fact that it went missing in the first place? Also, if they were trying to "get to certain people" why bring attention to their efforts by taking down an entire plane? Wouldn't they have just grabbed them in a dark alley?

To get ahead... I expect to hear them. There are three competing ct 's as far as I can tell.

Now off to work with me. Another government meeting to cover. You got some of that novocaine handy?

Honestly, I was waiting for the connection to be made here at DU.

Granted, I haven't been following every thread on the topic; however I was anticipating someone to bring it up eventually.

Off topic: is NO2 still used in the dental field?

12. If the plane were to be hijacked and flown at low level (below radar) it has sixteen hours

worth of flight time (fuel) and could be in Iran as I type this. It was two Iranians that used the stolen passports. Until they find evidence of a crash anything is possible I guess.

16. Nowhere near that much flight time

the fuel burn rate skyrockets at low altitude so the range is much, much shorter...

Nevermind the fact that one does not simply fly a 777 at night...at 1000 or so feet...and at Mach .80 and expect to live though it wihout being the greatest pilot who ever lived...

to refuel at their mountain basecamp in the Himalayas. If they could make a plane disappear they could certainly find a flat spot in the mountains big enough to land (and take off) a fully loaded 777. Or maybe they left the people and luggage behind, just wanting the plane and a shorter take-off. It's on the ground in Iran, already repainted.
