ANYBODY could attend the State University and graduate DEBT FREE,
including the Graduate Degrees,
IF he or she were willing to work a Part time job.
This was the RULE, not the exception.

We could have that again IF we had a Party that represented the Working Class.

Lowering the interest rate on Student Loans is a Moderate Republican solution,
not a traditional Democratic Party solution.

The Democratic Party solution back when I joined the Democratic Party was that Higher Education
was a fundamental Human Right
and NOT a Commodity to be sold to Americans by For Profit Corporations.

[font color=firebrick][center]"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans.
I want a party that will STAND UP for Working Americans."

so accumulated a small debt, but if I had attended the state university, I wouldn't have had to borrow a dime. That was 1965.

It's more important to kill civilians in undeclared wars the world over than educate your own.

I remember . In 1971 I got a associate degree after two years at a junior college in LA for just $ 6.50 per semester for parking
and then a couple hundred per semester at Cal State Northridge . In 1980 it all changed when Reagen became president . It was all out war on the working class from then to now .

However, I was thinking about the debate surrounding the minimum wage & how people argue the fact that jobs at fast food restaurants & the like aren't meant to support families & those people should go out & get better jobs. Yet higher education at any level is so damn expensive & people still have to have a way to support their families while trying to get this higher education it's a vicious circle of endless nothingness.

This shit is nonsense, people should be rewarded for bettering themselves & obtaining some type of higher education, even if it's through a technical college.

Sorry of subject a bit, but still somewhat applicable.

attend a California State University. My half of the rent on my small off campus apartment was $70.00 a month. Today my daughter attends the University of California. Her tuition is approx. $4500.00 a quarter -- three quarters in the academic year and her half of the rent on her small apartment is $700.00. It's insane.
