(60,334 posts)There has been snow on the ground since before Thanksgiving.
Since the first of the year we have had only 5 days above freezing.
60 would feel good about now.

(4,713 posts)are turning into popsicles, I'm not complaining of the cold so much as the ridiculous fluctuations. They have been non-stop & quite excessive.

(37,573 posts)In fact, today is supposed to be close to 70 degrees here.
The trouble is that spring is a transisition season, some days are summer-like, like today and yesterday and the day before and some days are winter-like.
Unlike most of the weather of the last decade, this has been a colder than "normal" spring - at least here.
But it is also not THAT unusual to have snow even in May. I can remember it, because last year on about May 15th it was snowing even this far south (Kansas City). I was in the bank singing "I'm dreaming of a white ... Memorial Day. Just like the ones I used to know."
Of course, it didn't stick, and I knew it was not gonna stick, although it was really coming down for a while there.
