VICE, season opener

is half hour between Bill Maher and the Bill Maher rerun on my cable tonight. Reruns tomorrow will be different. Check HBO and try to see VICE. The first story is the amazing corruption of the U.S. in Afghanistan -- mostly military. The money in helicopters is half our budget for Afghanistan and Afghanistan does not have enough pilots. The pilots they have are not night vision trained. The maintenance is all U.S. suppliers. Neither country can afford to run the electricity plants. The ones running outside of the urban areas cannot collect the money because the Taliban controls the areas and the money. The military recycle parts are going to Pakistan. Don't believe me -- I am mad and probably babbling. Look up the show and watch it!! This is vital information.

1. Yes. An incredibly important show -

it is a horrible state of affairs, and I'm speechless as well. Botched to the max and I believe there is no way to extricate ourselves with dignity, and excuse ourselves for the monumental terror and mess we created.

It is vital information, as you said, we are kept from knowing it. The money we could sure as hell use at home is wasted on an ineffectual long war that is utterly lost and mishandled. By using the word "mishandled" I do not mean there is a good way to wage war. I'm against war. It is not the way to deal with our differences, and not even a way to pay back for terrorism.

I, too, am still stunned having seen the show, and sent out recommendations to family members and friends to see it.

The other segment of the show, about Rio de Janeiro getting ready for the Olympics, and what the city is like in its underbelly was also extremely necessary. It's less of a presentation to Americans than the other segment, it's a presentation to the world stage.

Good for Bill Maher to bring us this show, I'm glad it is renewed. It is must see TV.

4. VICE is one of the best investigative reporting on TV

I've been a fan of their media for a while. Check out their documentaries on youtube also.
