Given that he spent some time as a journalist in Moscow several years ago, it will be interesting to read his stuff regarding current events, from the financial angle. Oligarchy, Gas lines, Sanctions etc.

In October 2012, United States Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Jr. was in a tight spot.
Seeking dismissal of a legal challenge against an NSA warrantless electronic surveillance program, the Department of Justice had taken the position that the rabble-rousers represented by the ACLU had no standing to sue because they couldnt prove they had been subjected to surveillance. But who, if anyone, could prove they were harmed by a program cloaked in secrecy?
Verrilli was ready with an answer: those criminals who had been caught by the program. In both written and oral arguments, the solicitor general assured the Supreme Court that the DOJ was bound by law to notify defendants when the program was used against them, stating that if the government planned to use evidence derived from the surveillance in court, it must provide advance notice to the tribunal and the person. It was an effective argument and one the Court ultimately found persuasive.
It just wasnt true. While the DOJ had utilized warrantless electronic surveillance to identify suspects for years, no criminal defendant had received such notice. Ever. Once this discrepancy was exposed, the DOJ reversed course and began providing notice to defendants in late 2013.
Yet the critical question of how and why the Obama administration misled our highest court remains unresolved.
/////////////////////////
it begs the question, did the solicitor general even know he was " misrepresenting" things to the supreme court?
I do not understand those who constantly defend current admin not wanting to get to the bottom of this as it is current admin this "shadow" force is betraying unless they are afraid current admin actually wants this stuff going on
as disappointed as I have been over some policies, appointments of current admin I still can not bring myself to believe he would send top lawyer to sc to lie and we know bush infested the justice department with regency grads in civil service jobs so it is not beyond reason to think their are many there working against potus

The NSA has a diverse arsenal of malware tools, each highly sophisticated and customizable for different purposes.
One implant, codenamed UNITEDRAKE, can be used with a variety of plug-ins that enable the agency to gain total control of an infected computer.
An implant plug-in named CAPTIVATEDAUDIENCE, for example, is used to take over a targeted computers microphone and record conversations taking place near the device. Another, GUMFISH, can covertly take over a computers webcam and snap photographs. FOGGYBOTTOM records logs of Internet browsing histories and collects login details and passwords used to access websites and email accounts. GROK is used to log keystrokes. And SALVAGERABBIT exfiltrates data from removable flash drives that connect to an infected computer.
The implants can enable the NSA to circumvent privacy-enhancing encryption tools that are used to browse the Internet anonymously or scramble the contents of emails as they are being sent across networks. Thats because the NSAs malware gives the agency unfettered access to a targets computer before the user protects their communications with encryption.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
so not only does our gov't waste our money spying on us, they also interfere with our communications and ruin the expensive equipment we buy

Is Obama A Fraud?? TPP

Is Obama A Fraud?? TPP
During his presidential run in 2008, Barack Obama made himself appear as a populist candidate; one who would act in the very best interests of the average American. Obama promised stricter Wall Street regulation and consumer protection. He promised protection for whistleblowers. He promised vast job creation and a stronger middle class. He promised change.
However, nothing has much changed and the provisions in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal reveal Obama as more of a job-killing, corporate marionette. We are now forced to ask the question: Has Obama lost control or has he been defrauding the American public from day one?
The TPP trade deal is a corporate trojan horse with corporate-friendly provisions that even overshadow those of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). NAFTA was passed 20 years ago during the Clinton Administration and was meant to lubricate foreign trade with lowered tariffs and eased foreign trade barriers. NAFTAs true effect was that it limited corporate regulation and gave incentives to corporations that outsourced American work to low-wage countries. In the process, it destroyed American manufacturing.
Should there be any regulation that companies felt would interfere with profits, they could challenge the regulation before trade tribunals and demand government compensation over such regulation. NAFTA eventually killed millions of American jobs, created a $181 billion trade deficit with Mexico and Canada, and resulted in over $360 million of government compensation to corporations over policy disputes, policies designed for public interest. The TPP proves to have more devastating implications.
