TV pitchman Kevin Trudeau gets 10-year sentence

CHICAGO (AP) — TV pitchman Kevin Trudeau has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for bilking consumers via infomercials for his best-selling weight loss book.

Before sentencing the 50-year-old Trudeau in Chicago federal court Monday, U.S. District Judge Ronald Guzman said that for decades Trudeau "steadfastly attempted to cheat others for his own personal gain."

Trudeau apologized, saying he was a changed man.

A POS scammer and snake oil salesman... I would not mind seeing more prosecutions like this.

but I'm glad. I used to watch his infomercials. They were hypnotizing, in a bad way.

His secrets would cure addictions and give you a photographic memory. Coral calcium cures cancer. Endless list of promises not kept.

So how much were they cheated out of? were they ruined by his book, or just disappointed?

What about the other frauds that go on to this day, that rob people of their livelihoods, their homes, their life savings? When are the 1% fraudsters and banksters going to meet justice?

Really? you're locked up, you don't get to show up Monday 8am, wear Arizona Prison Pink for 122 hours, check out, go home, eat out at Denny's, return to the "country club Tuesday morning.

It is lock up. you are there 24-7. You are told when to sleep, when to wake, when and what to eat. If someone tougher than you thinks you're cute, you won't sleep much when "They" tell you to. Not my idea of a country club.

appears to be for repeatedly defying court orders. Judges don't take kindly to that.
