Romney Blames Obama's 'Terrible Timing' For Ukraine Crisis

CATHERINE THOMPSON – MARCH 18, 2014, 7:09 AM EDT

Mitt Romney, who knows a thing or two about missed opportunities, thinks President Barack Obama's "terrible timing" on foreign policy contributed to the crisis in Ukraine.

The former presidential candidate wrote an op-ed Monday in the Wall Street Journal titled "The Price Of Failed Leadership" that lamented what he said was the President's tendency to let the point in a foreign policy crisis when the U.S. has "good choices and good options" pass by.

"When protests in Ukraine grew and violence ensued, it was surely evident to people in the intelligence community—and to the White House—that President Putin might try to take advantage of the situation to capture Crimea, or more," Romney wrote. "That was the time to talk with our global allies about punishments and sanctions, to secure their solidarity, and to communicate these to the Russian president. These steps, plus assurances that we would not exclude Russia from its base in Sevastopol or threaten its influence in Kiev, might have dissuaded him from invasion."

Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a draft bill Tuesday that takes a step toward annexing Ukraine's Crimea region, after residents voted overwhelmingly Sunday to join that country. The U.S. did not recognize the results of the referendum and slapped sanctions on eleven Russian and Ukrainian officials in response.

is rMoney is going to run in '16. The pukes will be out in droves because to them they've had to endure a black President and no way are they going to put up with a woman President.
They'll be pulling voters out of the woodwork to make sure this doesn't happen.
rMoneys allure to them will be he's tough. Thats what they're trying to build with this posturing that mitt has been doing since the election such as this Op-ed.

Count on it mitt is running in '16 and he'll run on a Time to get tough on the bad guys and time to get the government off our backs platform like reagan did.

I know, Bill O Rights, except Congress wouldn't make a law, but all parties participating in the election would agree to this before running or look like a defeatist.

How nice would 4 years of silence from McCain, Palin, R$, and Ryan have been?

There is nothing the US could have done, once Yanukovich ran away and the peace agreement collapsed. Mittens thinks the US is all-powerful and can guarantee its desired outcomes in every part of the world, even in Russia's backyard--in short, he's McCain 2, and therefore fucking delusional.
