Southern Baptist official: The words ‘zygote’ and ‘embryo’ oppress unborn persons

NOT THE ONION.

Words commonly used to refer to the developmental stages of an embryo — and even the word embryo itself — are used as a tool of oppression, according to the president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.

Dr. Russell Moore made the comments last week during a prayer at the Susan B. Anthony List 2014 Campaign for Life Gala.

“Father God, as we see the tables cleared away tonight we know that tomorrow morning a young woman will probably be looking at two lines on a pregnancy test wondering what to do,” Moore said.

“We know that tomorrow morning legislators in this city will be deciding whether or not to oppress the most vulnerable around us, not only with laws but also even before that with words, referring to persons you have created in your image as simply zygotes or embryoes or fetuses or crisis pregnancies rather than persons, neighbors, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters.”

Two things you know about an antiabortion man: first, he's ignorant; second, he's lying about the few things he does know.

What an unmitigated ass!

I grew up in that whole environment and, to me, it's as toxic as it gets. I can tell you that the reason I detest religion is because of the SBs.

This person has so little regard for women he pretends a mass of dividing cells is more important. - Yet has no qualms about killing adults.

What a load of shit, emotional blackmail and all-around vomiting inducing propaganda.

The Southern Baptist stranglehold on the south was one of the main reasons I fled, only to be confronted with the Irish Catholics of Boston. Both are deadly to the human spirit but at least they were outnumbered in Boston by the more secular types.

Women aren't quite human to both of them, and should never be considered when there is a blastocyst somewhere. Women have no civil rights if there is any chance they could be pregnant.

These men are pure, fulminating evil. And they're ignorant.

Cultures that put animals entirely apart from humans have not been gentle to the earth or others. Furthermore most of these cultures once considered humans outside their own culture "animals."

Frankly anti-birth control, anti-abortion religions are following a very animalistic agenda of reproducing wildly in the hopes their children will pass on their genes as well as their religion, damn the consequences.

If we continue on this course then nature will take care of us in the usual manner and people will be dying off like a population explosion of lemmings.
