Animal Planet to help Lux the Portland cat

LOS ANGELES — Lux the cat's troubled relationship with his owners, who called the cops on him in Portland earlier this month, is about to get some help from an expert.

Lux gained national notiority after he scared his family into hiding in a bedroom and calling 911. The incident quickly touched off an Internet uproar that worried Jackson Galaxy, star of Animal Planet's "My Cat from Hell."

Now the famous cat whisperer has confirmed reports that he will be traveling to Portland to work with Lux and his family.

Galaxy said cats don't become ferocious felines that turn on their families for no reason. The cat behavior expert has offered to provide therapy for the 4-year-old Himalayan-mix kitty.

If you allow a baby to close enough to pull a cats tail and then you kick the cat, what the hell do you expect?

I find Jackson's show absolutely fascinating.

I hope he has a better future. Pulling the cat's tail and then kicking it surprisingly resulted in a violent reaction. Who could have guessed that?

.....while he is here in my town. Ha!

My tabby is not "violent" though. Just a magnificent specimen of a big brown tabby.

Kicking a pet is not going to anything but resent you. Especially when the owners of said cat can't be bothered to supervise their children.

They had a dog and a cat in that household, apparently didn't pay much mind to the baby since it was in reach of yanking a cat's tail.

But still, it was the cat's fault.

I don't blame that cat for anything when he responds to getting kicked to the very person that is supposed to protect, nourish and adore him.

I can't believe how few people train their children how to act around a pet. I have seen it so many times and normally just get the pet out of the situation if possible. If you can't teach your child not to hurt a pet, then you a) don't care about your children because they will some day be hurt, guaranteed; and b) you really hate your pet.

Parents and adults laughing at bad behavior are raising terrible children. And I'm so tired of bad children. And now these people have dogs on retractable leashes. Those are the biggest decline in animal training I have seen in years. So now we get terribly socialized pets who don't know how to walk on a leash. Great!

Stop people! If you are going to be a lazy parent or a lazy pet owner, do us all a favor and DON'T DO IT.
