The urgency and confidence of has me intrigued.
They said several pieces were seen, with one being about 24 meters.

But how many days? It seems impossible, if this is the plane, but who knows?

Depends on whether they were still alive on impact and how the plane impacted. If alive and conscious, they would have needed a raft/boat and fresh water.
