Donald Rumsfeld, the former defense secretary under noted foreign policy savant George W. Bush, thinks that President Barack Obama's administration has messed things up in Afghanistan:

If he and Cheney would be so kind as to be buried in the same shit heap that would be great. I'd be happy to buy a dozen cheap beers to take care of the pair of them in one go.
Agreed.

Of course, one would expect nothing less from Herr Rumsfeld. Although if we had any real news outlets in the MSM, they would be quick to point out that the GWB administration dropped the ball in Afghanistan when they turned their attention to Iraq and away from the mission in Afghanistan. (Yes I know, one can also criticize the "mission in Afghanistan", but still ... had we stayed in that country and not gone into Iraq, had we assisted them to modernize, etc., the outcome could have been very different)

(55,745 posts)Rumsfeld and his 'old friend' Saddam
By Jim Lobe
WASHINGTON - At last in United States military captivity, ousted former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein will soon mark an important 20th anniversary, the kind of anniversary that brings with it an appreciation of the ironies of life, and politics.
His captor, Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld, might also recall long-forgotten memories - or memories best forgotten - of what he was doing exactly 20 years ago.
If so, he will remember that he was in Baghdad, as a special envoy from then-president Ronald Reagan, assuring his host that, to quote the secret National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) that served as his talking points: the US would regard "any major reversal of Iraq's fortunes as a strategic defeat for the West".
So began the effective resumption of close relations between Baghdad and Washington that had been cut off by Iraq during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. Within a year, Washington would fully normalize ties with Saddam, and even suggest that the dictator had become a full-fledged "Arab moderate", ready to make peace with Israel.

(18,402 posts)There was next to no response to the Belgian newspaper that recently printed this picture of the Obamas as apes. It was posted yesterday and got four or five responses. It was on Talking Points Memo and Huffington post (two popular sources for reposts here), yet only one person posted. Perhaps the lack of commentary was due to the fact that this was supposedly a leftist paper? Is it only interesting when Donald Rumsfeld says it? Where do you think he got the idea suddenly?

(18,402 posts)To show the horrible racism that this president has been victim of. I didn't make this up.
We must always face the examples of injustice rather than hiding from them. We must tell the story of slavery in the US, of anti-Semitism in Europe, of child labor during the Industrial Revolution so that these injustices will never be repeated.

sorry if I sounded too harsh toward you.
Just that I'm sick of seeing stuff like this to Prove something further - we already know the racism directed at Obama and his family is out there in such an awful manner and quantity, and I just don't think reproducing those works of fart does us any good in the 'education' department.
I will post an awful pic of Hillary here:
I don't know if there might be different reactions to the two pics, but they are both belonging to somewhere else rather than here. Hopefully no where else but we know better.

(25,699 posts)When did Afghanistan attack us, applegrove?
Trick question; they didn't. The Taliban refused to give us Bin Laden without passing him through a third party. This is because there was not a US-Afghanistan extradition treaty... and matter of fact there still isn't. So Boosh decided to blow shit up to prove that his dick worked or something.
Afghanistan was no more an "aggressor" to us than Iraq was.
