VA Christian school bans 8-year-old girl because her tomboy looks aren’t ‘biblical’

VA Christian school bans 8-year-old girl because her tomboy looks aren’t ‘biblical’

An 8-year-old girl in Virginia has been told that she can not return to her Christian school because she defied “biblical standards” by looking like a boy.

Doris Thompson told WSET that her granddaughter, Sunnie Kahle, was forced to enroll in public school and has been refused admission for the next school year until she can express the proper gender identity.

“You’re probably aware that Timberlake Christian School is a religious, Bible believing institution providing education in a distinctly Christian environment,” a letter from Timberlake Christian School’s principal said.

According to WSET, the letter said that school rules said that students could be banned for “condoning sexual immorality, practicing a homosexual lifestyle or alternative gender identity.”

Hopefully this is a lesson to her and her family. Leave that ignorant nonsense in the past. nt Demo_Chris Mar 2014 #6

I wish the girl well. She'll be better off out of there, but that doesn't make the school's actions any less hurtful or wrongheaded.

I bet she'll eventually be glad she didn't go there and get a bunch of guilt or shame laid on her by looking or being different.

hopefully... her parents will realize the school sucks and be happy she went where she will next year.

While the school has a right to deny her re-admission... I would immediately withdraw my child from a school that did this to another child.

of them all...let's go back to "biblical times" no make-up, no hairdressers...let's faces, there wasn't as much back then to differentiate the sexes as there is today.

How dare they? How ridiculous are they if they can't stand to look at somebody different and still love them, as Christ said to do?

you know someone had to have been good religious "Bible" folk and all that. Because men are to be men and the female are to be female right? // snark.

would they get extra merit for being extra-biblical? I think not. But the modern style of trousers (full length and loose) - as opposed to breeches - is only about 200 years old.

Jesus is most often depicted with long flowing hair and what is arguably a dress. Not that I'm complaining, he looks hot, but he's not the picture of modern day stereotypical masculinity.
