...is convict Obama on impeachment and remove him from office. They'll fail, but they'll try.

(26,060 posts)Do you honestly think there are or will be 67 votes in the Senate to vote for conviction? I sure don't. I also don't believe they'll even attempt impeachment (or even talk about it in the chamber).
What WILL happen is an even worse record of approving judges. If Ginsberg does retire (or another seat opens for some reason), a pub controlled senate will make it impossible to approve what any one of us would consider even a decent candidate, let alone a real liberal.

(111,972 posts)Nancy Pelosi had far too much respect for the office of the president to pull that stunt when she had the opportunity. Nobody can say that about Turtle (or John Cornyn when Turtle is defeated in the fall)..

Started to engage them in conversation, but couldn't take the time. Asked quickly, 'What are you doing,' said: 'We're impeaching the President.' I: Why? he: for violating the Constitution. me: what part? He: Park here, can't block traffic. I left, instead of a discussion about the Constitution.

(2,682 posts)anyone in favor of impeachment of President Obama how they feel about a President Biden? Just removing Obama from office doesn't swing the executive branch of government to the GOP. Vice President Biden, not Speaker Boner, would become President. So I wonder what the game plan really is -- or are they just so offended by a Black/Democratic President that they have given little thought to the resulting political outcome.
Reminds me of what used to be said about VP Dan Quayle -- that he was H.W. Bush's insurance against impeachment! LOL
