Who shops at Hobby Lobby? My observation is that the customers are mostly white, middle class women. Who uses birth control? A lot of white, middle class women.
Can anyone say "boycott"?

(14,337 posts)All over Facebook, including posting on Hobby's Lobby's page, Twitter, etc. Right. They are making the majority of their customers, who are WOMEN, very, very mad. Taking their business to Michael's, Joanne's, etc.

(14,854 posts)Last time I was in one more than half the space in the store was devoted to ugly cheap shoddy dust-collecting knickknacks. The profit margin on those must be higher than on actual hobby supplies.

(9,681 posts)hobby lobby for yarn and such. I've stopped completely, I now go to Joann's.
A few years back I was a Girl Scout leader and did a lot of our craft shopping there, now I steer others away from them.

(36,437 posts)I told them that even though driving to Michael's is inconvenient I do it with a smile on my face. I said they probably didn't want my money anyway since I use birth control.
I am on pins & needles.

(6,238 posts)I assumed it was a store that sold Magic the Gathering cards and table top RPG books and I then I mentally made a note to never buy my RPG books from there. Clearly, I'm not the right demographic since I have no clue what they sell. I just saw the word "hobby" and assumed it meant my hobbies. Strange how that happens.

What I really miss? The freestanding fabric stores, art supply stores, etc. Syracuse is lucky enough to have a real art supply store down near the university. It's a treat to drop in there.
