http://www.theonion.com/articles/black-man-given-nations-worst-job,6439/Just sayin'....the only thing the Onion got wrong is that the headline should have been: Black Man Given WORLD'S Worst Job.
I've been disappointed by him, for sure.
But then, I haven't been surprised by it, either.
That is all......

(45,358 posts)Pathetic.

(27,063 posts)That was not my intent at all!!!!!!
My point was that Obama was given a shit-pile of problems, many of them with no easy or quick solutions.
It was inevitable that people would become disappointed, myself included.
And, given all that, he also has to represent the US to the world, which places him in a very difficult position at times, because we aren't a perfect nation (none are).
tridim
(45,358 posts)is just so pro-Obama I think I'm going to
If you weren't "surprised by it", that means you were anti-Obama from day one or before, because of BUSHGHAZI!!!11
Hint: Think for yourself next time instead of basing your opinions on a psychopath's actions.
Coventina
(27,063 posts)Wow!
So now I'm accused of being anti-Obama from day one? When I voted for him TWICE?

(37,573 posts)So it really sucks to be famous and set for life?
Yeah, it's so much worse than breaking your back for minimum wage and no benefits.
Coventina
(27,063 posts)And, I can honestly say I have absolutely no desire to trade places with Obama.
None.At.All.

(37,573 posts)and be set for life
I have to keep working my shitty job, because I need the money.
Although I used to call my own job "President of the Community Center" because, like the President, I got "blamed for everything".
But unlike the President, I was NOT making $400,000 a year. Nor would I get a multi-million dollar book deal once my "term" was over.
Coventina
(27,063 posts)You apparently envy his position, while I do not.
It's a fair difference of opinion, and I have no quarrel with that.
hfojvt
(37,573 posts)He's gonna end up like Clinton. A multi-million dollar book deal. Multiple millions a year in speaking fees. How is that NOT set for life by any definition?
I'd be quite happy to be able to present MY ideas to large crowds of people, for a mere $5,000 a pop.
I am not expecting a crowd to beat a path to my door any time soon though.

(27,063 posts)I don't consider sentencing my two daughters to that same life "set for life" either.
I wouldn't want to live my life knowing that so many people hate me so viscerally, without even knowing me.
I guess, for me, having a somewhat "normal" life is worth more than the money.
Clearly, you are of a different opinion, and that's fine.
Like I said, I have no quarrel with that.

(9,457 posts)around DU lately. I started to exit but decided to quickly look at a few comments first. That is when I realized what you meant to say. Now, I understand but lately there have been so many anti-Obama, pro-Putin posts that I think people's defenses are up. Mine are, i'm tired of wasting my time reading through a bunch of garbage from RT and other propaganda sources. I saw the Onion and knew this was a post for me. The Onion is the best and no, I didn't remember that article from years ago. Thanks for reminding me.
